Die seit 1953 erscheinenden Vierteljahrshefte fr Zeitgeschichte zhlen zu den traditionsreichsten und auflagenstrksten historischen Fachzeitschriften Europas. Hier stellen herausragende Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler ihre neuesten Forschungen zu zentralen Problemen der Zeitgeschichte vor. Zunchst vor allem das Organ der wissenschaftlichen Auseinandersetzung mit dem Nationalsozialismus hat sich die Zeitschrift auch zu einem mageblichen Forum fr die Auseinandersetzung mit der deutschen Geschichte seit 1945 in ihren internationalen Zusammenhngen entwickelt und richtet das Augenmerk ebenso auf Fragen der europischen und der globalen Geschichte.
