Since 1926 the Review has been the principal publisher and keeper of the historical heritage of the Great Southwest under Native America Spain Mexico and the United States. The Review embraces fields of inquiry from history to folklore and literature to anthropology and archaeology. Articles range widely to cover topics from politics land and water to culture religion and ethnicity. Over the decades Review authors have included many of the most preeminent writers and scholars working on the history of the Great Southwest. The current staff of the New Mexico Historical Review looks forward to publishing colorful exciting and informative articles of the ancient colonial territorial and modern history of New Mexico and the Greater Southwest.
