LANKESTERIANA the Scientific Journal of Jardn Botnico LankesterUniversidad de Costa Rica aims to be a scientific journal of great prestige and recognition worldwide for its specialization and contribution to the knowledge of the orchid family. LANKESTERIANA is dedicated to the publication of original contributions related to orchidology including systematics phylogeny evolution ecology reproductive biology anatomy physiology conservation and history of orchids as well as reviews of books and lectures on these topics. In addition short communications comments and range extensions that are titled as such are accepted. The journal is aimed at scientists researchers students and enthusiasts from all over the world with an interest in botany and especially orchids. It is also distributed to more than 350 institutions around the world.The official language of the journal is English and the manuscripts presented in Spanish are evaluated on a casebycase basis.
